According to the manufacturers the safe operational life time of the ball bearings is around 8000 operating hours. Burak Marine responds dynamically by refurbishing Ball and Roller Bearings utilizing the latest technological advancements and offering direct sale or an exchange basis.

The refurbishing process is the following:
The bearing parts are dismantled, the old Ball and Roller Bearings are discarded and the rest of the components are cleaned, measured for wear and if they prove to be suitable are reused, otherwise they are discarded.

Recommendations
Improved type - LA70/TA07

the latest generation of LA70/TA07 bearings is manufactured to offer overall flexibility and being able to absorb the reflected vibrations in the Ball and Roller Bearings. This is achieved through a pioneering innovative design of dual casing made of steel with a high resistance to thermal and mechanical stresses combined with the use of a controlled oil coating which is provided by a new design of high pressure pumps, without the damping springs which were used in the previous bearings.

type LA36/TA04 bearing

LA36/TA04 are manufactured with a high strength steel casing (black colour) which reduces the risk of cracking in case of high rotor shaft imbalance. The TA04 (turbine side) is manufactured with smaller and shorter rollers compared to the pervious type (ΤΑ01) in order to reduce the size and the risk of sideslip.

The older type LA34/TA01 bearings are not recommended, it is recommended that they are replaced with LA36/TA04 or LA70/TA07

LA34/TA01 type bearings are not recommended by our company because they have been replaced by the turbocharger's manufacturer as they have proved to be of low operating standards, manufactured with an aluminium casing (white in colour) that either fractures at the first sign of rotor shaft imbalance or abrade into the oil cavities and break down after some hours leading to damages worth thousands of Euros or even the death of bystanders.

Burak Marine can offer the above-mentioned old type LA34/TA01 Ball and Roller Bearings while stocks last but as a company that respects life and the human factor provides no guarantee or insurance and accepts no liability in case of any damage.

To convert the specifications of your turbocharger to the LA36/TA04 or LA70/TA07 type
it is absolutely necessary to replace some additional components of the lubricating system (due to design differences) which are included in the overhauling kit.
